Family Vacation – part 2

Okay, where did I leave off? On Thursday Steve and I enjoyed an afternoon of quality alone time. We went back to Bayfield and after walking the stretch picked a nice little place for lunch. We strolled down the street, holding hands, looking in all the shops, and just talking. Something that we haven’t done enough of lately, so it was really, really nice! We even stopped for cupcakes and coffee for dessert. One pretty thing we bought was a little metal rock that has “I love you” engraved on it. Our plan was that one of us would hide it for the other one to find, then when you find it you hide it for the other one. So far it’s turned up in our bed, Steve’s sock drawer, my jewelry area, the handkerchief area. Who knows where it will turn up new. After we got home, we spent sometime with the girls before dinner and bed. We hit the beach and buried Steve in the sand, because what’s a beach vacation with burying dad in the sand.

Friday was our big official beach day. We spent most of the day at the beach and it was a blast. Lillian kept saying the waves were too loud earlier in the week so this day we rocked the beach life. They only came up for meals and then back down to play in the sand. We couldn’t even get Katrina to leave her suit on, she just ran around the beach in a swim diaper. Too cute. I managed to build a GIANT sand castle thanks to Steve keeping the naked tower smasher away from it long enough to complete it.Thanks sweetie!

Friday night after talking to my girlfriend on facebook I decided it would be best for us to leave on Saturday night. So we got up and looked outside to see crazy rain! Boo! We’d planned to go to a local little fair and rain was not part of that equation. Luckily the rain let up just in time for us to head out and see the parade. It was a tractor parade so the little one was really excited, (she’s big on tractors and trucks right now) while Lillian liked the rides. Not sure where she gets that from since I’m afraid of heights. But both of them went on some rides, and Steve took Lillian on her favourite, the ferris wheel. After that we hit the petting zoo and wow the girls were excited. Katrina had never seen many animals in real life, and she was just in LOVE with the kittens. She wanted to cuddle that little kitten forever.

After the fair, we had lunch and the girls got one last visit to the beach before we headed home. The little one slept the whole way home, and other than the whole home repair fiasco our arriving home Saturday night was a great idea.
