Test in 66 hours!
14 months ago I sent my paperwork in to become a Canadian citizen. I was born in Germany and have been in Canada since 1986 so I figured now that I’m married to a Canadian and have two beautiful Canadian children. So I filled out the form and sent it in November 2011. Then in January 2013 I got a form in the mail that I have my citizenship test on Friday. So it only took them 14 months to give me 10 days notice to go write their test.
I’m all ready to write my test and am looking forward to it so that this whole process is over. Though I do find it a bit annoying that in the test material they say you should bring your friends and family to your citizenship ceremony because it’s such a special occasion, but the letter I got about the ceremony after I write the test, states each family will be allowed no more than 1 person to attend. Now how does that work exactly? Nice to know that this is such a great event in my life that I get to bring a whole 1 person with me. I hope that the “family” they refer to as getting to bring 1 guest includes my husband and children because if it doesn’t my girlfriend will be babysitting my kids so my husband can attend with me, and that’s just ridiculous! But I’ll find out for sure on Friday when I write the test!
Wish me luck and I’ll let you know how it goes!

When I went for my bf’s it was me and his brother…I don’t think they enforce it, unless it’s specific to your location, maybe it’s small?
