The adventure that started Four months ago.
On January 1st I bounded to my husband and told him that I wanted to run the Waterloo marathon. He smiled at me and said “me too”, but I don’t think he knew what he was in for. A few short days later we’d purchased our amazing baby jogging stroller and I started to run in the cold in my tight sweat pants in the snow. Now I have real running clothes, with fancy running shoes, stop watch, reflective vest, and a medal from my first half-marathon. It’s crazy what can happen in a few short months. I am now a runner for life and that is the greatest thing I have ever done for myself, my husband and my daughter.
This week I was sick with a nasty cold but I didn’t let that stop me. My husband and I were not sure if we could do the run but we did and I’m so glad we did. I wasn’t last at all which I thought for sure I would be and I beat my old personal best by about 9 whole minutes and I’m so excited about this. I feel like I could take on the world, and can’t wait for my baby to wake up from her nap and cuddle her. I wanted to be healthy for my baby and now I’ve gone and become a runner for life. After resting up a few weeks I’ll start training for the Horror Hill run and work on my speed. I know slow and steady wins the race but I think I can go faster.
Now it’s time to rest!
