I spoke too soon.
Trying to decide what to have for dinner at Swiss Chalet with daddy. |
So I was all excited Sunday night about how I was doing great and was going to hit my running goal this month and blah blah blah, well I spoke too soon and jinxed myself. I spent ALL DAY yesterday in bed sick as a dog! My husband had to call in sick to take care of our baby because I was in no shape to do so. I slept until around 2pm, got up ate some toast, and camped on the couch with the TV until around 7pm when I crawled back into bed after eating some chicken noodle soup.
So today I’m feeling more like me and am able to get back to things but for someone who has crazy energy like I do being sick like that just zaps me. Usually I’m out of commission, physical activity wise, for 10-14 days. I can get back right away but only up to 20% of my normal for days 1-4 , then 50% of usual for days 5-10, and then 75-90% for days 11-14 and by the end of that I’m usually back to normal. So even though I’m so ridiculously close to not only hitting my original goal of 184km but my revised goal of 213km, right now I’ll be lucky if I make the 184km. So I’m super disappointed but there is nothing I can do. I need to give my body time to rest and heal. One thing to be thankful for though is that my half-marathon race isn’t until mid-September so at least this bit of sickiness won’t affect that.
- Good Weekend!
- Feel like I’ve been in hiding.
Hugs to you…make sure to give yourself lots of rest.
It is good that your hubby can take time off to look after the baby in a situation like that.
