Training Tuesday – Week 5 of 15
Oh my goodness. I’m a third of the way to my half marathon. I haven’t looked up any of the race info or such yet either. Maybe I should get on that, but really I won’t until October. I need to get closer to running 20km before I know my hip will make it for a half marathon, but that won’t slow down my awesome training! Okay, so this week I rocked a total of 25.03km in 3:01 for a 7:14 pace. That is much faster than my previous 7:19 pace, so I will TAKE IT!
This week was a pretty good training week. I got my ab workout in pretty early. I lost my physio exercises streak on Wednesday when I was just too tired at 10pm to do them, but before that I was at something like 11 days so I’m okay with that. I actually only have to do them every other day, so I’ll take it. I also made it through the entire booty camp ab workout video. I’ve tried three times before and did not make it through so that is good news to me too!
My tempo run felt amazing, which you expect after a rest week, and my easy run went really fast, though in my defense there was a big downhill part of it. And my long run was awesome. I felt a little heavy in the legs in the first third of it, and couldn’t really figure out when but then I looked at my watch. Ops! Apparently running under 7:00/km in the first 4km will do that to you. I managed to slow down and in the end it was a great run, and I am so thankful that I caught it early and had a fabulous run.
