The Weight Debate.

Okay, time to talk about something more on my old model. I’m going to talk about my weight! Before my vacation I was sitting around 156, and at my lowest I was 148. So I am pretty happy when I sit between 148 and 152lbs, so I am a few pounds up but I did do boot camp for all of June and am struggling to get back into the habit of eating right (stupid work stress/busy life) and getting enough exercise (stupid hot summer) and getting enough sleep (stupid work stress/coffee addiction). So I think my biggest issue right now is really the sleep. I’m not getting enough and I think it’s keeping those extra pounds on me, but honestly, I have three pants (one shorts, one capris, and one pants) that don’t fit, and honestly the pants were tight before I gained the few pounds, so I’m not really kidding myself there.

But now I want to get back to working out more regularly, which should be easy with my race training plan, and necessary cross training (yoga or pilates anyone?). And I will keep working on getting more sleep and more importantly quality sleep, and of course the food. I’m lucky with the food because our vegetable garden has been a cornucopia of healthy goodness lately so I will try hard to focus on the healthy eating in August and make some yummy, good for me food and try to knock off those 5 or so extra pounds.

Honestly though I am trying not to focus on the number on the scale (which can be hard some days) and instead go by how I feel and how my clothes fit and how I feel in the clothes. Right now I’m eating too much sugar and caffeine so I need to knock that off so I feel better, but at least my clothes fit. I even bought myself a gorgeous, sexy, little black dress to show myself off. My brown honeymoon dress is too big on me now (see left from my rehearsal dinner) and needed to be replaced.

What do you think? Is this an improvement?

    You look great!

I just blogged about this on Tuesday… I’ve never disclosed my weight to ANYONE but my doctor (not even my husband until this week) and it was sort of liberating, I must say.

Any yes, focus on how you feel and how your clothes fit rather than that silly number on the scale.
