Katrina Catch up!

The itty bitty has now turned 2! I can hardly believe that my little lady is two years old. We decided against a huge blow out party and instead did the quiet party with a few friends and family over. Of the four little friends we invited only one family could make it but that’s okay, since this little red haired miss has been at most of our parties and brought her new baby brother with her. (At Katrina’s first party my coach and I figured out our coworker and friend was expecting because she wouldn’t eat the baileys cake I made for my hubby. Sneaky sneaky!) It made for a calmer, more comfortable birthday party. Katrina loved every minute of it, and passed out in the middle of painting. She then stayed passed out, albeit on the couch while mommy opened her presents. And after the party she was allowed to go to visit Oma for her first overnight trip! We were all a bit worried but she did great. Apparently she is only crazy about mommy when mommy is in site. Take me away and she is happy with whomever.

This little peanut is growing like a weed, and now wears mostly the same clothes as her big sister. Not surprising when you know K weighs 30lbs and L only 32lbs. The big difference is Katrina’s still in diapers so her pants need to be the size 3 or 4 Lilly wears to cover her big butt. When you take those cloth diapers off she goes right back to a 2. We are hoping to try potty training her in August so we’ll see how that goes.

Her vocabulary is getting better too. Some days we understand everything that she is saying and others we only catch a few words. Typical two year old talk. She is always busy exploring her world and has hit that age where she wants to do everything herself, so we have to be careful to remember NOT to help her, which of course goes against pretty much every grain in my body, but she’s a trooper. She gets in and out of the car and car seat, the stroller, the booster seat, the stairs, etc… As soon as she can open and close the fridge my job will pretty much be over.
