Running is back on.
Remember when I posted a few weeks ago about how much better my running was getting? Well that is still true!
Jan 21-27 = 2.74km (1 run)
Jan 28-Feb 3 = 5.48km (2 runs x 20 min – 3/1)
Feb 4-10 = 5.96km (2 runs x 20 min – 4/1)
Feb 11-17 = 6.76km (2 runs x 25 minutes – 4/1)
Feb 18-24 = 11.24km (3 runs – 2x 30 min + 1x 25 min – 4/1)
Feb 25-March 3 = 12.23km (3 runs – 3x 30 min – 3/1)
March 4-10 = 14.36km (3 runs – 2x 35 min + 1x 30 min – 4/1)
My runs have been getting better, and faster, and I’m getting do them outside more and I am so excited about it! My fasted 4 minute piece was at a 5:53 km pace, which was on Sunday afternoon. I have been trying to break that 6 minutes km bit since I started to run again. When I did speed work my aim was 6 minute km or 10 minute mile, and I am working hard to take advantage of my little runs with quickie walk breaks throughout. Next week my goal will be to move up from 35 to 36 minutes, and from 4/1 run-walk to 5-1 run-walks. I’m going to do a combination of this and increasing the weekend run by 10 minutes. Since my runs are dictated by time and not distance my coach said I should increase my time by 10%. So that means my 100 minutes becomes 110 and my weekend long run goes up to 40 minutes. This is very exciting!
