Welcome 2013!
Hard to believe that another year has passed, but it has! Happy New Year to all of you! Now we can look forward to a new year filled with fresh chances, new adventures and all sorts of greatness!
I started my new year off right by running a 10km run this morning. It was cold, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do the whole distance. The Resolution Run is not a formal race here, so there are no fluids, no chips, no blow up start, but rather a group of happy runners, who came out at 10am on cold, and snowy (luckily only for the first loop) day. We ran a 2.5km loop 4 times. Well at least it was supposed to be 2.5k but my garmin said it was 2.4km so actually my total was 9.6 but that’s fine for today! I ran the race and now have a second running jacket. It might seem silly to need a second but this will fix the question of “so who gets to wear the jacket” that Steve asks me every time we get dressed to go on a family run.
The rest of our day was spent together as a family. We watched TV, went to the park with the kids, ate our family meals, played in the basement, made box blocks (more on those another day) and just enjoyed being home along together for this one last day. We feasted on the left over chinese food, Lillian proudly ate her two chicken balls, and I made super yummy hot chocolate to help stave off the cold.
Tomorrow, I start back at work. The girls are excited to go to daycare again. Lillian keeps listing all the friends she wants to see, and I like that she has so many friends that she missed. Katrina will move up from the baby room to the toddler room (no longer the big fish in the little pond) which makes me a little sad since my baby is growing up to fast but at the same time I think it will be good for her, since these kids will be more advanced than her and that will help her to improve her speaking and other baby skills.
Now I should finish my TV time with Steve so we can get to bed early since tomorrow will be a long day!
