But some can be awesome!

So after the nightmare of a run I had yesterday I am thrilled to say that my run today was great and I couldn’t be happier! I planned to do an easy run which for me usually means I don’t watch my pace or such and just run by feel, and that’s what I did today. I strapped my Garmin to my jogging stroller, bundled my babies up and off we went! I figured my short run (5.2km) would be fine for an easy run, but before I even passed 1km both girls were asleep so I figured maybe I could add a little bit to it. There are a few cul-de-sacs on the run so I added those and did an extra stretch of road because they were both asleep.

I ended up doing 9.04km and felt absolutely amazing doing it. I felt so much better running than I did yesterday. Amazing what a little extra sleep and fresh air can do! Katrina went down at 10:30pm and woke up at 5:50am to eat, then passed out again until almost 8am! It was so crazy but very, very, welcome! I had such a wonderful day with my girls and even though my peanut was a very fussy itty bitty for part of the day, we had a great time. The fresh air was great for all of us, and the weather was perfect for a long run. It was only negative because of the wind factor, but my route didn’t have very much open space so I was willing to risk the wind, and I’ve never been happier I did.

One funny thing that I found while running was this weird raised circle trail just off the road by a new development behind our house. I have no idea what it’s supposed to be. The one side is too close to the nature reserve part to be future houses and the middle area is not very big at all. I’m wondering if it’s supposed to be another one of those water ponds that they put by houses to catch the run off. I’m going to run it and see how long it actually is around once. It isn’t very big, but I’m hoping if it is a nice fraction of a km or mile so I can take advantage of the flat, oval, path and do some training runs there in the summer. Sprints anyone?
