Training Tuesday – Week 24.
So this week went well, especially considering I ran my speed run last week, and I caught a cold before my Saturday long run.
I did my nice easy, outside weekly runs without much excitement this week. I didn’t want to push myself too hard, and since my friend was visiting I didn’t want to run too long. We’ve been having crazy winds lately which is why I don’t want to push it too hard.
On Saturday, I did my long run, and I woke up not feeling quite right. That was the first day of my sniffles, so I was not too sure if I could do the full 12km. But I made my plans with optimism and get all ready to go for it. I had forgotten to take a cheque with me on my errands, and was really disappointed about that, so I checked on Google maps and the zehrs where they have a bank machine was 5.8km away from my house. I took it as a sign and laced up, grabbed my running cookies and heading to the bank. I ran into a flock of geese close to the store so I had to slow down a bit, and walk past them for fear of them attacking me, but it went off without a hitch. So I did a great run at a comfortable pace despite feeling icky.
So now I’m counting down to my half-marathon. I’ve only got 12 days to go!!
