Getting my rest on!
So my first rest week went really well. My coach told me this week I can do whatever I want in regards to running because starting next week she owns me and I won’t be able to do whatever I want for a very long, long time! Like November! So I’ve been enjoying it and trying to let my body heal. While I am not in pain, my body needs a rest. I ran my race really hard and it took a toll on me both physically and emotionally and my legs felt like lead when I did my first post race run on Sunday. I was slow! It was hard! So now I’m waiting until next week to really start rocking my runs again. Now that I’ve got a few nights of good sleep I’m hoping my body will bounce back quick.
This week my plan is to run as my body feels it. Last week I did NOT want to run at all. So this week I will run when my body says “hey, why aren’t we running?” I have plans to attend a running symposium on Wednesday night so that will be take care of that day unless the girls want to go in the stroller which will depend on the weather. I do hope that my body feels up to doing three runs this week, but intensity and length will be up to my legs and body. Then the training starts and from my schedule it looks like it’ll start nice and slow and move up from there. I’m pretty excited about it.
