Training Tuesday – Week 3 of 22
Week 3 has been amazing for my training.
On Monday night Katrina was not a very happy camper. She fussed from 7:30-9pm and then she was up at 11ish, 1:30, 3:30 and 5am. On top of that I woke up 12:40 and 2:15 thinking that I heard her. Each of these wake ups she needed to be comforted and/or nursed, so needless to say it was a VERY long night! Because of that I did my easy 5km run on Tuesday and moved my tempo run to another day when I could get a good night’s sleep. Luckily for me that happened on Tuesday night so Wednesday morning I was out the door by 6:30am and off on my tempo. As usual the first few kms were very hard on me, but once I got into my grove I was flying! So much so that I actually had to force myself to walk at the end of my cool down because I was going so fast! So I managed a 6:38 pace in my tempo when the goal was 6:40. I think I am finally getting the hang of running at a set pace. Woot!
Saturday I had a GREAT long run. My heel did not hurt at all, and in fact I got so lost in thought that I ran further than I should have. I took it easy, listened to musicals on my ipod and was busy dreaming of what I want to do with my basement in a few years when my mom moves her furniture out of it. I planned my sewing nook and the kids play area, and a lovely reading chair by the fire place we plan to put in this summer. I just let me legs go and do their thing and at one point looked down and my watch and realized that if I turned around right now I would be an extra 0.25km further than I needed to run. Opps! But it’s okay since I felt great after my run and honestly I could have just kept running it felt so good.
- Weekend wrap up.
- Wednesday Weigh in.
Great job! I have said it before, but your running while balancing life is really inspiring!
