The Lillian Report!

The first born deserves the first update post! So a lot has happened for her since I last really wrote. Our little miss is signed up for JK and she couldn’t be more excited about it. Every time we drive by her school she waves and says “Hello school!” so that’s great to see. She has been on the school visit and we already bought her lunchpail, and now we’re waiting for her supplies list so we can go out in August to get her things and a back pack and probably a few pairs of shoes too. My little baby is growing up! Soon she’ll be getting on the bus every day and heading off to the halls of higher learning and soon she’ll be in high school, and then university, and wow, let’s not go there!

Her drawings have also improved a lot over the last while. She went from colouring pages in one solid colour to using many colours and actually trying to stay in the lines. And when she draws her own art, you can actually tell what she is drawing, which is really great when she brings you her art (and she brings home art by the pound from daycare) and you know what it is before she tells you.

She also got a new hair cut. I was really hesitant to cut her hair because she has such thin and fine hair, but she kept asking and asking so I decided that it was time and we cut is all off at the length of her shorter hair. So now her pretty hair is the length of her shoulders and she looks so much older since we cut it.

She really shined for us, when her sister went to Oma’s house for a few days. We did a lot of big girl things, like visiting a local heritage village and my little lady demonstrated that she is now very independent. She gets herself dressed and undressed, including shoes. She tries to help brush her hair and her teeth. She also is super opinionated about what she does and doesn’t like and what she wants to wear, what she wants to do, where to go, and so on. If you don’t do what she wants, she gets rather bossy. She has grown into a bit of a bossy socks, but I think that’s normal for her age, especially since the is the oldest. We also joke that she’s our future vegetarian, since she eats loads of fruit and vegetables and dairy, but really only eggs, fish and bacon for her protein. We can occasionally convince her to eat meatballs or a hot dog but that’s about it. But really who complains about a kid that loves vegetables!

She’s our skinny mini weighing in at 32lbs to her sister’s 30lbs. She’s a thin wisp of a girl, but she’s active, eats well, sleeps well and is usually happy (except at the end of the day when she’s tired – she no longer naps so evenings can be much) and clever all the time. I can’t wait to see what she gets up to once she is in school!

So here are my updates in photo form! What a funny little monkey!
